Monster Max

After the past few weeks of dreadful supply teaching experiences and interviews it was really nice to get together and see all of my Havering friends for lunch. Before heading to lunch, I met Lynsey at her house for some tea and brought my camera along knowing that Max would be just as cute as ever and in need of my camera in his face. I also had the pleasure of meeting Olivia who is a fantastic big sister and fellow gymnast. Hopefully, Olivia won't be so shy next time so I can capture a few more with her and Max together (or at least a few of her gymnastics moves), however, she did make a fabulous assistant (thank you!). Here a are a few pictures from the impromptu photo session--as you can see he is quite the charmer and very popular with us ladies.

Alexis and Scott Help a Girl Out!

Most people who know me know that I am interested in progressing my passion for photography to the next level. I am nowhere NEAR where I need to be in order to do that but really, the only way to get there is to do a few things: practice, practice, get the necessary equipment, practice, and practice some more. I am planning on going back to get a digital photography certificate when I head back to Canada but for now I will have to make do with what I've got--a basic DSLR, a couple of lenses (none of which are truly appropriate for this type of photography), and good 'ol mother nature. It was a cloudy, dark, sort of gloomy day, but Alexis and Scott really cheered me up! They are a fantastic couple who offered to get in front of my camera so I could get some practice. They are happily married and totally in love. Scott's mom was visiting from South Africa so she got to partake a little and witness a few of my flails. Scott and Alexis did a fabulous job! Thank you so much for helping me out and looking forward to shooting you again once I get my camera/lens upgrades!

Random-osity

Just a few random pictures from this summer. Have decided that I should probably go out and take a few pictures of the British 'fall'. Not nearly as colourful and beautiful as what I am used to in Ontario, but still much better than the impending cold, rainy, and dreary winter weather.

(Some of) The Many Reluctant Faces of Kevin

hese are a few pictures of Kevin taken outside of Westminster Abbey. We didn't want to go inside and instead enjoyed the ever-so-changing British weather outside on the lawn. Fortunately for me, I had my camera. Unfortunately for Kevin there was no one to take pictures of so he became a little bit of a project. Refusing to do anything AT ALL but sit there, Kevin made an interesting (can you hear the sarcasm) subject who was less than impressed to be on the other side of the camera. You can note the slight facial changes--all courtesy of Kevin's willingness to participate:) Regardless he was a pretty good sport about it and I got some pretty adorable ones of my best man friend.

This is Kevin being 'distinguished'--or so he says.
